The massively popular New York Times podcast The Daily devoted an entire episode on Friday to the competition between the U.S. and China over access to the world’s largest reserves of cobalt in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Normally, it isn’t newsworthy when a podcast covers something but The Daily isn’t just any ordinary podcast. This show has an audience of at least two million listeners a day, especially among Washington’s political class, and is regularly among the top five most popular podcasts worldwide.
